INTRODUCING PEAK CITY SOUND
What is Peak City Sound?
Peak City Sound is a band consisting of 14 musicians. The band hails from Apex, North Carolina, "the Peak of good Living". Peak City Sound performs indoor and outdoor events, festivals, and fundraisers. The band's musical journey takes you toe tapping through the decades from Motown to Bruno Mars with an energetic blend of feel-good songs.
The Band's History
Peak City Sound was started in 2007 by drummer Jack Clayton as a open-invitation, volunteer local town band in Apex, North Carolina. As part of the Apex arts scene, it played two or three times each year, primarily at small street fairs in the quaint downtown of Apex.
The band evolved into its current state by 2012, and is now made up of 14 talented musicians, featuring a full rhythm section, four singers, and a five-piece horn section. PCS has come into its own as a very popular local draw, playing throughout the Triangle area at some of the most popular venues and concert series around.
The current members of the band share a common belief in community enrichment with an emphasis on the musical arts. Peak City Sound is a non-profit and educational entity that offers a professional, high-energy sound, and specializes in community festivals, town concert series, special local events, and fundraisers.
Peak City Sound has carved out a classic, rock-driven sound playing popular and well-know soul- and rock-oriented songs from the 1960s to the present day. They continue to grow in popularity, and have performed to large crowds at events including Apex PeakFest, Cary’s Wind Down Wednesday summer concert series at Waverly Place, the Carolina Hurricanes Fan Appreciation Tailgate Party, and many other community and neighborhood events.
The members of Peak City Sound all reside in the Triangle area, and all volunteer their time in the band. They love the opportunity to come together to play fun, enjoyable music, and have always pleased crowds wherever they've played.
